Purposeful Play

Upon leaving teaching dance full time to be a mom and explore my other passions, like teaching yoga and making malas – I spent a lot of time playing. A lot of time tinkering, experimenting, journaling, asking questions and figuring things out – as I continue to do.

Things have evolved. I didn’t start with it all figured out, and I certainly still don’t have it all figured out now. My first blog post looked like this. One of my first mini malas looked like this. My first days as a mom looked like this. My workspace once looked like this

Beginning was the best thing I could have done. Figuring it out along the way with a sense of play + curiosity created motion and lightness informing where I am now.

There is tremendous freedom in doing what lights you up. In giving yourself permission to do what you love, because that is your unique gift you have to offer this world. So go ahead and begin. PLAY. Let it be MESSY + confusing and I’m sure you will come out with something beautiful on the other end. And of course, I’d LOVE to hear what you create. I’ll be making a mess right alongside you. :)

Programed to Receive

I want to create space to investigate. I want to deepen my relationship to myself, so I can have meaningful relationships with others.  I want to connect to what is guiding me and slow down so I can receive. I want to worry less and TRUST MORE and experience a lot of JOY.

There is tremendous power in claiming what you want, and then there is the practice of bringing your desires into your life. Rituals, sacred rewards, and things you do to stay upright must always be present and evolving in order to support the shift you are wanting,  so that  you can receive it with grace and ease.

Until then have fun creating what you need most in order to support you in where you want to go. This group of lovely ladies also work magic.

Make Things

I am supremely satisfied when I am creative, when I am making messes, and when I just begin.  Here are some things I have been making (and you can too) over the past few months:

Vision Board – cut / paste / collage – doesn’t have to be anything more than that.

Mini Mobiles – wrap + hang your favorite things from a branch.

Coloring Sheets  – print and color these intricate doodles.

DIY Barrettes  – totally fancy all you need is some nail polish!

Friendship Bracelets – these will never go out of style.

Mini Notebooks – simple + sweet

and I have been using lots of Washi Tape – the best material ever!!

“Write it. Shoot it. Publish it. Crochet it, sauté it, whatever. MAKE.

More Love Letters

The other day I wrote a love letter to no one I knew.  Inspired by moreloveletters.com I wrote down words that I thought would be nice for someone to read.

Today I am going to find a place in Frankfurt to leave this note and I hope whoever picks it up understands english :)

The founder of this global organization speaks about her mission in this 5 minute TED talk.  What a gift to create and send little notes of love that lift people up all over this world.  Writing these few sentences certainly lifted me up.

Try it!  Grab a pen and piece of paper and write a little note that will make someone’s day.
